The electric current is 220 Volt AC (50 cycles) throughout the country. There are many plugs and sockets in use. Travellers with shavers, tape recorders and other appliances should carry a plug-adapter kit. The better hotels will have available 110 Volt transformers.

From this picture you can see that Thailand uses a two pin plug. The flat pins are more common though many of the sockets allow two round pins as well. Most houses have plugs sockets that only allow two pins. However, in our house, we have ones that allow a three pin plug. You can see in the above example that you can plug all three kinds in this socket. Computers use these three pin plugs. If we have to plug the computer into a two pin (flat) socket we just use an adaptor (available everywhere).
